Simply astounding. This is such a heavy track. Houses Remix of Active Child's Playing House is definitely topping my list of remixes to date.
I feel almost dumbfounded as I'm not quite sure how to describe this, but I'll do my best. Here goes. Active Child alone, is such an amazing artist already and has received a tonne of positive feedback from the music blogging community. Hell, Active Child has received a tonne of positive feedback from the music industry in general. Pat Grossi outdid himself. Then, in comes Houses. I can't say I had heard of Houses prior to listening to this remix, but I am liking what I am hearing. Houses adds a nice serene touch with minimal synth undertones throughout the song. Closer to the end of the song, the vocal skips and the layers of synths grab you. The pads almost add a little bit of a "liquidy" sort of feel to the song as well. In general, the song is a little progressive and I am such a fan of it.
So all in all, Houses took an amazing indie track and made it available to those of you who are also fans of downtempo electro goodness. It couldn't get any better than that.
