Project Primer released their first EP entitled Experiments almost a month ago in mid-September.
Ambient is a genre that is quite relaxing and is awesome for listening to while doing homework. It`s a genre that doesn`t get that much attention in comparison to other big electronic genres such as house or DnB, but it has this flare to it. Ambient is a kind of genre with very abstract sounds and often coincides with experimental. A lot of ambient has very little percussions (or none at all) and seems to keep in touch with nature. You might hear birds chirping or water flowing.
Project Primer is a great testament to what ambient is all about encompassing a few different sub genres within their EP. They cover ambient breaks (which is ambient tracks with percussions broken into the song) and emotional ambient. The thing about their EP is that in only three songs, they manage to capture you and hold you there. Something that I noticed Project Primer does a little of is progress their songs as well which is seen in some ambient songs, but not many. There is an inherent build up that pulls you in.
If ambient is your thing, then I recommend listening to Project Primer and if you aren`t, check them out anyways. They have a lot of potential for an artist that just started off. Check out their Facebook as well for more updates (See links below).
