Well, NPR said it best. "James Vincent McMorrow has one of the most arresting voices of any young singer you're likely to hear this year: He's got the heartbreaking falsetto of a Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and the raspy soul of a Ray LaMontagne, in a way that sounds both fragile and grand," says Robin Hilton at NPR Music. The man has an incredible talent and he uses it well. His lyrics are soulful and really refined to suit not only his own life, but so that they fit into the lives of others as well. It is really difficult to make a song that gives you goosbumps, yet McMorrow manages to do just that. Every time I listen to one of his songs, I feel like everything will be okay. Much of the likes of Bon Iver (which I'm sure he is often compared to), McMorrow delivers more than just music to sooth your ears, but music that soothes the soul.

James has gotten so much recognition from the release of his album Early in the Morning, that there have been a couple remixes done already. I might add that the remixes are incredible and definitely shows the variety of genres that McMorrow suits. His music can truly be listened to by any. Here are a couple of remixes that top my list. First, is the White Sea Remix of The Japanese Popstars tune called Shells of Silver which is featuring McMorrow. The original album is called Controlling Your Allegiance. Secondly, is the notorious Adventure Club dubstep remix of We Don't Eat. Of course, I had to include a little dubstep somewhere. Being that Adventure Club is one of my favourite Canadian dubstep producers out there, you can expect this tune to be grand. This is also available for a free download.
