When I think of Chordaroy, I think of Chordaroy the Bear, then the song starts playing. That`s when things change.
A song with Hodgy Beats, Left Brain (Producer), Earl Sweatshirt, and Wolf haley (who we all know is one of Tyler`s ulterior egos). The group likes to take their turn with each of them taking care of a verse and then coming together for the chorus. Essentially, Chordaroy is exactly what you would expect from MellowHype. Something dark, something opinionated, and something that has meaning. Take the name MellowHype. Clearly, it is an oxymoron. You could interpret their music in a similar fashion. A lot of their songs have a slower beat, but the rap just gets you pumped. Most of the songs aren`t necessarily fast-paced, but that allows you to better listen to the lyrics. So ... it`s like a compilation of mellow beats and lyrics that hype you up. Chordaroy is definitely one of those songs and is definitely one of my favourites. A lot of the favouritism comes from the fact that Earl is in the song and usually anything Earl touches is genius (being he is my favourite member from OF).
