Indie Pop
Lisa Mitchell is an Australian singer and songwriter noted for her appearance on Australian Idol. Her sound is reminiscent of a past post highlighting Alex Winston, carrying a distinct vocal prowess complimented by an almost cheery, folk undertone (along with the looks to match). Her lyrical style also reminds me somewhat of Regina Spektor's works, that is you most likely won't be able to make sense of it the first time you hear one of her songs.
Her range encompasses many genres from acoustic to a more 'pop' feel that may leave some wondering why I have her labelled as Indie-pop. Some tracks from her album Wonder may drive you away for being too 'poppy', as I must admit, but sticking with it you may find a few gems enticing enough to have you listening on repeat. I assure you, while being young she is far removed from the teen-pop spotlight that may cause some of you to cringe and erupt in a fit of anger.
